A point wouldn’t be a bad result tomorrow
|
I know a win puts everything to bed, but a point would not be a terrible result for us tomorrow. It would get us to 35 points and, given our superior goal difference, would mean that Villa (Arsenal (H), us (A)) and Bournemouth (Southampton (H) and Everton (A) would have to WIN BOTH their remaining games to overtake us. And then Watford also have 2 tough games left (City and Arsenal), and we would just need to match their points total in the remaining games.
Obviously a win is what we want, but We might want to RESPECT THE POINT. Just got to make sure we don’t lose.

Yes...respect the point... But...we need 3 POINTS ASAP... Don't want a lingering suspense... Don't rely on others to fail...get it done ASAP... COYFI...

We're about 7/1 to go down which pretty much says it all. We haven't been in the bottom 3 all season and won't go down, as we all know.

What Tex said.
Hasn't the adage for just about every professional game ever played always been: "If you can't win, don't lose"?

A point wouldn't be a disaster, though playing for one might be.
Need a positive mindset.

Even if we lost, we would beat Villa anyway. We aren't going down and never were, so even though this is all a bit of fun, it's actually a waste of time too.

Mathematically, it would not.
But it will be BAD unless all you expect is the tedious mediocrity of West Ham United being just as poor as parochial relegation candidates will far less money, support and supposed style.
It would cement a shocking state of affairs. Consistently shitter than Crystal fucking Palace and our fans say: that'll do. Well done everyone.

Well it might stop you slagging Moyes off on every post you make, makes you look like a simpleton.
Like I say, you know we are not going down, but carry on if you want.
Aston Villa don't even have a centre forward, it's pretty much impossible to go down this season. Fancy next season could be trickier though.

Even if we lose Villa and Bournemouth would have to WIN BOTH their remaining games to overtake us. A draw makes no difference to them because we have that superior goal difference anyway (unless we lose to Watford by a hatful of goals).
The only advantage to a draw is that it probably puts Watford in the bottom 3 instead of us if just one of Villa and Bournemouth manage to win both their games. If they both do then we'd join Watford in the Championship unless we win tonight.

We need to win
But we need to not lose more
a draw should be enough, but Watford at home should be 3 points.
Moyes hasnt had back to back wins since 2016 however.....

"Watford at home should be 3 points."
Yes, but it wasn't last season.
And since the restart our home form has been even worse than normal, losing to Burnley and Wolves.

Don't think I'd fancy a Moyes side needing a result on the last day to stay up.
How are Watford at defending set pieces and crosses launched into their box from fifty yards away?

No.
We are 3 points ahead of both of them. If we lose our last 3 games, they only need a win and a draw.

You seem to think we should beat most teams, including a Burnley that have now lost one in thirteen including away to Liverpool.
The reason we are where we are is we're not very good and beating any team isn't to be expected from us.

Do i expect us to beat a second string Burnley team with the following players starting....
Long Bardsley Vydra Brownhill Pieters Taylor
Yes.....yes i do, especially when we were virtually full strength. If anyone doesnt with our squad might aswell prepare for league 1 now
Tonight if we play well we should win.........its Moyes having the ability to get us to play well which is the tough bit. Oh and we need to bring our shooting boots, we create the same amount as against Burnley we should score 1 or 2
